objective To evaluate the influences of effective fractions of Sini Powder (EFSP) on the exploratory behavior
and abilities of learning and memory in rats with olfactory bulb lesion.Methods Open-field and Morris water maze were used to investigate the effects of EFSP on rat behavioural changes
such as horizontal and vertical movements
learning and memory abilities. Results Compared with the model group
high-and mid-dose of EFSP obviously improved the vertical movements in rats with olfactory bulb lesion. Of the learning and memory abilities
the latency period was obviously shortened in the treatment group. With mid-and low-dose of EFSP the movements in 20% of marginal zone were decreased and the movements in 80% of center zone were increased.Conclusion EFSP can relieve the decrease of exploratory behavior
and the disorder of memory and learning abilities in rats with olfactory bulb lesion. The improvement of memory and learning abilities may be related to the anti-depression effect of EFSP.
