Objective To study the influence of natural moxibustion (NM) on mRNA expression of nm23-1 gene in mice with lung cancer. Method The mRNA expression of nm23-1 gene was detected by the technique of real-time fluorescence quantitative reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Result There was no significant difference in the chemiotherapy group compared with the control group in mRNA expression of nm23-1 gene (P>0.05). The mRNA expression of nm23-1 gene was obviously improved and Lewis lung cancer was obviously inhibited in the NM group and the group of NM combined with chemiotherapy. Conclusion One of the anti-cancer mechanisms of NM may be that it can improve mRNA expression of nm23-1 gene through helping chemiotherapy.
